We deeply regret that HSC 1000, OM Silvo DK9ZH has passed away already in May 2016 aged 91 years.
Currently two OPs are candidates to become full member of the HSC:
SP7VV and DL9DBI.

We are happy to introduce OM Beo, DJ4XD as a new member to the club. Beo is HSC 1949.
During the past weeks some sad news arised:
Karl Hille, ex-DL1VU and HSC 415 sadly has become a silent key. Karl was well known for his DX-peditions
to Asia making more than 100.000 QSOs. He also was an author of technical articles in antenna design as well as he
makes contributions to amateur radio operations.
Also we regret the passing of HSC 743, OM Wolfgang, DK3KD and HSC 1354, OM Paul, PA2CW.

The HSC sadly has to announce that we lost two members: HB9XX (1500) passed away May this year and OM Daki,
9A2WJ (657) earlier this year.
Currently two CW operators are candidates for HSC membership:

The HSC is happy to announce that we have a new Contest Manager. We'd like to welcome OM Jörg, PA1MUC (DL3LUM),
HSC 1923. Also we would like to thank Joe, DL4CF (1259) for his extraordinary work as Contest Manager since 2011.

Here we have some fresh news for you:
- New special event station "65 Years HSC" has been set up by Bob, PA5V (569) using the callsign PB65HSC.
Bob will be on the air starting May 17th.
- We received a membership application from OM Chris, F8DGY.
- The very first two special awards WHSC65 have been issued to
DJ1YFK (1754) und YU7DZ. Congrats!

The HSC has been founded in May 1951. So therefore in May 2016 HSC announces the May Marathon "65 Years of HSC".
During month May make as much contacts with HSC member as you can! Additionally we issue a
special award "WHSC65". See for 65 Years HSC for more details.
Currently the following special callsigns are on the air: DP65HSC, LZ65HSC, SQ65HSC and PA65HSC!
The General Meeting 2016 has adopted new rules for joining our club.

Annual HSC Meeting 2016
We would like to invite all members to the Annual HSC Meeting 2016 held during the
CW Meeting at Erbenhausen,
Germany (link only in German language available). The HSC Meeting is on April 8th, 2016, 10:00 local time.
The HSC regrets that OM Thomas, DJ5DT (338) and YL Dulce, PY1BUL (1370) have passed
away already last year.
Andy, DL3JAB (1855) is QRV from Fuerteventura island from March 3rd until 13th 2016 using EA8/DL3JAB.
Look out for him in the morning and evening hours.

Here we have some additional news:
- HSC 1925, DL6BW moved to Orlando, Fl and surrenders his german callsign. He will be QRV as N7RH from the USA.
- OM Mats, SM6LRR (1099) is using the callsign RM2D while staying in Russia near Moscow.
- We deeply regret the passing of OM Carel, PC5M, HSC 1404.
In 2016, the Radio Telegraphy High Speed Club (HSC) is celebrating its 65th anniversary.
To mark this event, HSC was granted the special DOK number HSC65 to be used by its club stations DAØHSC,
DKØHSC and DLØHSC throughout the year.
Furthermore, the special call sign DP65HSC was assigned to HSC to be activated exclusively in CW.
It will also use the special DOK number HSC65. Its HSC number is 1951, which is the year when the
HSC was founded. This station may be operated in 2016 by any German HSC member upon special
application. QSL via bureau, DCL or LoTW.
The HSC would like to encourage our non-DL members to contact their telecommunication authorities in order
to get permission to use a callsign similar to "xx65HSC". QSLs should be printed and handled by the
applicant. He should be aware that HSC unfortunately won't be able to cover any expenses.
In May 2016, there will be a month of activities to celebrate our anniversary. There will be a special
award for working HSC members and club stations, including non-DL "xx65HSC" stations mentioned above.

- OM Chris, DL1OD (1707) advised us that the Irish callsign EI3KK has been issued to him.
He is QRV from Ireland mostly on August and September.
- OM Karl-Heinz Hille has surrendered his callsign DL1VU. This callsign has been issued to another OM
who is not a member of HSC so we deleted DL1VU from the membership list.
The next HSC Contest is on Sunday February 28th, 2016.
