HSC Contestchampion of the Year: DJ5AA and DE3JLU
The result of the HSC contest shows, that we have two HSC Contestchampion of the Year in 2002. The HSC would like to congratulate OM Jo, DJ5AA (558) who took part in the QRP category and OM Uwe, DL6AAF (1214) under his SWL call sign DE3JLU who took part in the SWL category. These OM will receive a special award for this great job! It will be presented to them at the big CW weekend in Erbenhausen, Germany, on April 12th, 2003. Further information to follow later.

The results of the HSC contest November 2002 is ready. Details see Contests. The contest manager, Lutz, DL3BZZ says: "127 HSC members took part, but only 42 have submitted their logs. It could be more!".
DL3BZZ has announced the contest schedule for 2003 and 2004, see Contests. Beside this, the regulation of the SWL category. Starting contest February 2003, the same station only can be logged five times per period.
The HSC welcomes new member OM Ray, GØTUE. Ray is member no. 1812. Welcome to HSC!

HSC took notice of a DX announcement, that our member Jacky, F2CW (1105) has settled in New Zealand and is QRV under call sign ZL3CW.

We sadly have to announce, that our member OM Otto Gerhard, DL6TS (354) is a silent key.
WHSC no. 356 has been worked by DJ3XD and WHSC no. 357 by G3VJP (1807). Congratulations!

Despite other voices, morsetelegraphy is quite popular for radio amateurs today. Even for young YLs, XYLs and OM. How can you explain, that HSC has welcome 17 new members this year, many of them being quite young? It seems to be the spirit of today's age, to detour hurdels but not to prevail them. Efforts to abandon the morsetelegraphy examination belong to this mind.
Anyway, our new member Tobias, DL2YTM didn't fear the "hurdles of telegraphy test". Tobias, age of 17 years, received membership number 1810. Congratulations!

Last Sunday a lot of friends of HSC joined us in the HSC contest. Many thanks to all YL, XYL am OM! HSC 1808 is the highest membership number that was issued at the time of the contest. If you received higher numbers in the contest, that station is no member of HSC! Nevertheless, these QSOs count as normal QSOs with non-members.
