The HSC would like to wish all members and friends Merry Christmas!

With deep sadness we regret the passing of a member of the very first time: OM John, G3FBN (77) has become a silent key.

We have made some corrections of our membership database: Of course, YU1BM (1245) and S59A (670) are still members of the HSC!

OM Dov, 4Z4DX (1680) wrote us, that he holds the following additional callsigns: 9N7DX, MØDOV, JY8WW and OZØDOV. Dov sent us some pictures, we've added them to the HSC Picture Gallery.

As early in 2006, the EUCW 160 m Party, sponsored by the UFT, takes place on January 6th, 2007 from 20 to 23 UTC and on 7th from 4 to 7 UTC in the range of 1810 to 1840 kHz. The complete rules are available from the AGCW website. Logs go to F6CEL, deadline is February 8th, 2007. Working on 160 meters is a good opportunity to make contacts during low high-band conditions due to the current solar cylce.

The HSC mournes the sudden death of two members: OM Harry, OM3EA (190) has been a member for a very long time. He died at the age of 74 a couple of days ago. Also we regret the passing of OM Claus "Cas", DJ4IY (1021) who was very active on the bands. In the 1980s, Cas has been seen at the HSC meetings held at Büdingen, Germany.

Last Sunday, November 5th, the second HSC Contest this year took place. The HSC would like to thank all participants. Please send your log to the Contest-Manager until December 17th. Logs via E-Mail are very welcome! Please note the new E-Mail address: hsccontest@googlemail.com. The old address is still valid until the end of this year and will be deactivated then.

Reminder: The HSC Marathon runs until December 31st. QSOs made in contests are valid for the marathon as well as rag chewing. Please submit your marathon log to the Marathon Manager in January 2007!

The HSC issues membership awards, the WHSC award and some other things. Please note that we won't accept US$ any more. The only accepted currency is EUR.

The HSC mourns that our new member Toni, DF9GK (1864) passed away. Toni died surprisingly a couple of days ago. He was a member of HSC since the end of July this year.

The HSC would like to welcome OM Toly, US9PA as a new member. Toly signes HSC 1863. Welcome!

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of OM Victor "Vic", OE5PV (244), who died at the age of 89. Vic was a member of HSC for 49 years and a very active and enthusiastic ham who especially cultivated quick telegraphy. To many of us he was personally known as a guest at our meetings. For his friendliness and his readiness to help he enjoyed general esteem. For our club he always was going all out, more than 60 members are indebted to him for his sponsorship. His passing is a severe loss to all of us and he will be missed on the bands and on meetings.

OM Clifford, DJØOS (1103) died at the end of April at the age of 78. For more than 23 years Cliff was member of HSC and sponsored several British members.

HAM RADIO 2006 This year's HAM RADIO in Friedrichshafen, Germany, will be held from June 23rd to 25th, 2006. Our club is again present at hall A1, booth no. 569.
All friends of radio telegraphy are invited to visit us, to meet friends and make an entry into the guest book. An up to date list of members and the HSC CD-ROM will be available. The focusing of the convention towards the young should encourage our members to mediate enjoying radio telegraphy to young hams and represent the HSC membership as a desirable goal. The HSC welcomes two new members: OM Manfred, DH2MS got HSC no. 1859 and OM André, DL4UNY, signes HSC 1860. Welcome to the club!

After returning to Finland, OM Erkki, ex-F5VJF (483) is active on the air using his home callsign OH2BF.

Here we have the results of the HSC Marathon 2005. Once again, the winner is OM Gyuri, HA1CW (1744). Second is Fabian, DJ1YFK (1754) and Joe, DL4CF (1259) ranks 3rd. Congratulation to you and thanks to all participants!

You may download the results in detail available as Acrobat PDF. This year, 22 OPs have submitted their logs to the HSC Marathon manager. All participants will receive a QSL card via the bureau automatically.

Here are some fresh news: On February 4th, 2006, HSC Club Station DLØHSC transmits the next HSC Bulletin on 7.025 kHz at 15 UTC in english language.

Our member Gerd, DL2PA (1788), has added the WHSC Sticker 7 MHz and 3,5+7 MHz to his basic WHSC Award. Congratulation!

Here we have the results of the HSC Contest from November 6th, 2005:

Winner in the "HSC Members" section is DL4CF (1259) and the "QRP" class has been won by DL8LBK (1737). Once again, DE3JLU (1214) has won the "SWL" class. Since these OP has been placed first in the February contest, they are named HSC Contest Champions 2005, too! The winner of the "Nonmember" section is OK1HX.

OM Bernd, DL5EBX (1459) has moved to France using F5VGR as his new callsign.

The first HSC bulletin in 2006 will be on Saturday 7th, 2006. As usual, HSC club station DLØHSC will transmit the bulletin. Here's just a reminder:

HSC Bulletins:
  • The HSC bulletins are broadcasted on the first Saturday of each month.
  • At 15 UTC the broadcast takes place on 7,025 kHz in English language.
  • At 21 UTC (20 UTC during daylight saving time) in German language on 3,555 kHz.
Speed is about 20 wpm. The transmission will be followed by a ZAP traffic. After that, the bulletin will be repeated at 35 wpm.
