Our member Gyuri, HA7PF (1155) died October 3rd 2012 aged 80 years.
OM Emil, DL8JJ (1891) is a member of an international Team visiting Lesotho from Nov. 21st until Dec. 4th 2012. They are QRV as 7P8D. Look for them at CQ WW DX Contest, too!
Already in July OM Adrzej, SQ7B worked WHSC Award 392. OM Andreas, DL2VLA worked the WHSC-60 Award. Congratulation to both OM!

Special event station HB9HST - IARU High Speed Telegraphy World Championship
Next week (Oct 17-20), the IARU High Speed Telegraphy World Championship will be held in Beatenberg, Switzerland. Teams from at least 16 countries, from as far away as Mongolia and Japan, will be participating. From Tuesday through Saturday, we will be running a special event station HB9HST, which will be available to our guests. I can't make any promises about how fast or slow they will be sending their CW; it should prove interesting.

The 10th IARU High Speed Telegraphy (HST) World Championship 2012 will be held from October 17th to 21st 2012 at beautiful Beatenberg, Switzerland.
The registration period has been extended until mid August 2012. Join HST 2012 now!

This year's HAM RADIO in
Friedrichshafen, Germany, will be held from June 22nd to 24th, 2012. Once again we're present.

We sadly have to inform you that OM Peter, DL8YR (553) has passed away.
On May 7th 2012 HSC secretary Hardy, DL1VDL visited ARRL Headquarters. On this occasion the
WHSC60 Award has been granted to ARRL club station W1AW.

The HSC would like to congratulate OM Karl-Heinz Hille, DL1VU (415) who celebrates his 90th birthday some days ago. Karl-Heinz has joined our club in 1963, almost fifty years ago! Enjoy high speed telegraphy, Karl!

- Hans, DK5JI, is working as a "Flying Faculty Member" at German-Jordanian University in Amman. He plans to be on the air as JY8JI.
- OM Erwin, DJ6TS (397) died December 2011 at the age of 74. Erwin joined us in 1963 and sponsored two new members.
- Already September 2008, OM Heinz DK3PQ (969), passed away. Heinz joined us in 1981 and sponsored one new member to the club.

Here we have an update of our membership stock:
- The HSC would like to welcome OM Colyn, GD4EIP. Colyn is HSC 1906. Welcome to the club!
- We sadly have to announce that OM Manfred, DK7XB (894), passed away a few days ago.
- OM Gerd, DK9LG (1193) already passed away December 2011 at the age of 89 years. Gerd has been a member for 31 years. He recommended 7 new members to our club.
Please keep in mind the next HSC Contest is on Sunday, Feburary 26th 2012.

The results of the HSC Marathon just came in. The HSC congratulates the winner DL1CW (1714)! Here we have the results for download (PDF file).
From April 1994 to January 2012, Alf, DL1TL (18) has been the operator of our club station DLØHSC. Alf broadcasted the monthly HSC bulletin for almost 18 years from his location in Leverkusen, Germany. The HSC would like to thank Alf for this outstanding service!
Since January 2012 Joe, DK7VW (1709) is the responsible operator at DLØHSC.

Please note that we have a new HSC marathon manager. Please send your log submissions to the e-mail address shown within the Marathon section.
We already received more than 40 WHSC60 Award applications. The awards will be mailed by snail mail soon. We also will provide the certificates as a downloadable PDF file on this web page. Award applications are still free of charge until the end of January 2012. Please contact the HSC secretary.

- We are very sad to have to announce, that HSC 357, OM Hans, HB9QH passed away.
- OM Fabio, IKØIXI told us that his new US callsign is KF1B.
- HSC 1856, OM Rile (ex-YU1PC), is now using the new callsign YU2U.
- The DX-pedition to El Salvador, HU2DX is from 29. Jan. 2012 until 10. Feb. 2012. Some HSC-Ops have joined the team.
