HAMRADIO 2023
HSC thank AGCW for organizing a joint booth at this year’s HAMRADIO 2023 hamfest at Friedrichshafen, Germany. HSC ran
two remote stations (DJ6ZM and DAØHSC) which attracted the attention of many visitors from all over the world,
to include ZL, VK, W and 5Z4. A presentation of paddles and elbugs invariably triggered technical discussions. The
latter also included topics such as QRQ, QRS, CW QSO design and latest developments in hamradio equipment.
Some more news:
- Sadly we got word of Alfred’s, DJ6IH (420) passing away unexpectedly. Alfred was a stalwart supporter of HSC
and until recently was heard on 40 Meters and 80 Meters engaged in long conversational CW QSOs. He will be missed. RIP Alfred .

The HSC welcomes OM Dennis, WA2USA, as a new member to the club. Dennis signes HSC 2010. The sponsors are
EA1ARW, AC5K, WØVTT, K1JD and NN7CW.
The HSC committee have decided that the so-called "watchperiod" is to be be rescinded
immediately. In recent decades it has become obvious that the watch period has not served any meaningful purpose,
since there have practically never been any valid objections prior to the issuance of the award to prospective candidates.
This is mainly due to the conscientious manner in which HSC members have invariably exercised their privilege to recommend
potential members. The HSC committee thank all sponsors for their continuous engagement towards fostering the aims of HSC
by recommending deserving CW operators for the HSC award.
