Happy New Year! The HSC would like to wish all members and friends a Happy New Year 2008!
In 2007, the HSC has welcome 8 friends of high speed keying as new members!
Last call for the HSC Marathon: Only a few hours are remaining for the very last QSOs valid for the 2007 Marathon.

It is with sadness that we have to announce that OM Günther, DJ5GG (1743) has become a silent key.

This year's last HSC Bulletin will be transmitted by DLØHSC on December 1st, 2007 at 15 UTC at 7.025 kHz in english language.

It is with sadness that we have to announce the passing of four members: Serbia/Montenegro have returned the callsign blocks 4N and YZ to ITU, they are replaced by YT and YU5, resp. The following callsignes have changed: OM Peter, DL4FCH (1792) has obtained the 3,5 MHz Sticker and therefore completed his WHSC Award! Congrats Peter!

Here we have the results of the first HSC Contest from February 2007. Winner of the members section is HA1CW (1744). The non-members section has been won by DJ6BQ. The very first of the QRP class is DL5CL and the only participant of the SWL class was DE3JLU (1214).

Congratulation to all winners! Thanks to all for your participation and hopefully cuagn on November, 4th.

OK1RR told us, that OM Zdenek, OK1PG (427) has become a silent key one week ago.

The DXpedition of FSDXA to St. Brandon that has been planned for a long time will start in September and will take 18 days, over three weekends, using callsign 3B7C on all amateur bands between 160 and 6 meters, with emphasis on the lower bands. GM3POI (549) and DL7AKC (1371) are members of the team.

The 32nd International Amateur Radio Exhibition HAM RADIO will take place from June 22 to 24th at Friedrichshafen, Germany. As last year the HSC uses its booth no. 569 in hall A1. All friends of radio telegraphy are invited to visit us, to meet ham friends and to make an entry in the guest book. Updated HSC CD-ROMs and membership lists will be available, too.

Here we have the results of the HSC Marathon 2006. The winner is Fabian, DJ1YFK (1754) and second is OM Gyuri, HA1CW (1744). OM Red, DL1BUG (1704) ranks third. Congratulation to you and thanks to all participants!

You may download the results in detail available as Acrobat PDF. 29 OPs have submitted their logs to the HSC Marathon manager. All participants will receive a QSL card via the bureau automatically.


The Golden HSC Pin of Honour has been awarded to OM Nick Napylov, UA3MDX (419). During many years Nick has supported the HSC by information, speaking and writing, in the Russian speaking area against the bothering encroachments by the known usurpator. As a new holder of this decoration he follows the unforgotten DL1PM, Ernst Manske.

Nick, UA3MDX (419) told us, that he will surrender his amateur radio licence.

Please have the HSC-Marathon deadline in mind. It's Wednesday, January 31st. You should forward your logs to the HSC-Marathon Manager Werner, DF5DD via e-mail.

The automatic HSC DX-Info news service will be abandoned in 2007. Nevertheless, we do post all DX-activities of our members provided they will be forwarded to us via e-mail.

The HSC mournes the passing of its member Oscar, ON5ME (909) who unexpectedly died a few days ago at the age of 65. Oscar was the founder and president of SHSC and EHSC clubs and served as EUCW president for 15 years.

Hajo, DJ1OJ (368) told us, the he holds the second callsign EA8OM to be QRV from the Canary Islands during winter months.

Here we have the results of the HSC Contest from November 5th, 2006:

Winner in the "HSC Members" section is HA3NU (790) and the "QRP" class has been won by DL8LBK (1737). Once again, DE3JLU (1214) has won the "SWL" class. Since these OP has been placed first in the February contest, they are named HSC Contest Champions 2006, too! The winner of the "Nonmember" section is DL4ME.

The HSC would like to congratulate all winners and participants.

The first HSC bulletin in 2007 will be on Saturday 6th, 2007. As usual, HSC club station DLØHSC will transmit the bulletin. Here's just a reminder:

HSC Bulletins:
  • The HSC bulletins are broadcasted on the first Saturday of each month.
  • At 15 UTC the broadcast takes place on 7,025 kHz in English language.
  • At 21 UTC (20 UTC during daylight saving time) in German language on 3,555 kHz.
Speed is about 20 wpm. The transmission will be followed by a ZAP traffic. After that, the bulletin will be repeated at 35 wpm.
